World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Mounts Guide

Water Strider

Fans of the Fishing profession get a new mount, too. This one walks on water, no less. The Azure Water Strider is purchased from The Angler‘s quatermaster, Nat Pagle, when you hit, of course, Exalted with this MoP Fishing faction. Like other Pandaria profession mounts, there are a handful of other goodies you can buy from the same vendor when you raise your rep with them as well.

Jewelrycrafted Panthers

Jewelrycrafters in the game that have reached 600 in their profession and raised their reputation with the Order of the Cloud Serpent can purchase recipes to make five different colored flying panther mounts created from gems. The four basic ones are Jade (green), Ruby (red), Sapphire (blue), and Sunstone (yellow). The final one, the Jeweled Onyx Panther (black), is created from combining the other four Voltron-style. Each one of the basic panther requires a 20,000 gold vendor purchased component (before Guild and Faction discounts), so you’re looking at 80,000 gold at least to make badass Onyx mount. Well worth it if you have the cash and the skill.

Engineered Rocket Ships

Engineers get two more flashy rides to add to their collection. Azeroth’s mechanics that choose to specialize in Goblin engineering can create the Depleted-Kyparium Rocket. Those that specialized in Gnomish engineering get a different set of blueprints, ones that can build the Geosynchronous World Spinner (which is a nod to both Futurama and Tin-tin.) Though both these mounts require engineering (and ALOT of cash on hand) to make, anyone can ride them, so look for either on the Auction House.

Pandaren Kites

The grand prize of Pandaria mounts, the Pandaren Kite is the Achievement reward when hitting Exalted with, wait for it, all 11 factions in MoP. This kite shows off the true dedication of the player in this expansion given that they have to tackle the Fishing and Farming factions, plus the Pandaren faction. But while everyone else only gets to ride kites when hitching a ride on the local air transport system, you will take yours everywhere you want to go. There is also a Jade (green) version as a reward for collecting 150 mounts in the game.

This guide is current up to WoW Patch 5.1. We’ll update as more mounts are introduced into the game. We’re looking at you, 5.2 triceratops mount!
