Would You Play A Witcher MMO?

Massively recently touched upon the idea of an MMO based on The Witcher, and asked its readers if they’d be interested in playing one.

While my initial gut reaction was “Hell yes!” a moment of reflection had me second-guessing myself. Would a Witcher MMO be toned down for a teen audience, or would it retain its mature rating? Would the MMO be able to convey the importance of player choice, or like most MMOs, would your choices feel meaningless? Would you feel insignificant knowing there were thousands of others like you running around the world, engaging in similar activities?

While I feel SWTOR has proven that a story-driven MMO is possible, I felt as though the story worked best as a singleplayer experience — but we already have a singleplayer Witcher experience. Besides; don’t we have enough fantasy MMOs out there?

What’s your take? Would you play a Witcher MMO?

Please no. They should rather focus on releasing Witcher 2 for the PS3

MMO’s kinda take the “role playing” out of RPG’s. In single player games you’re playing Geralt and everyone in his world treats him like a mysterious Witcher.

In an MMO everyone acts like some dude playing a game which kinda removes any consideration of atmosphere. So in the end a Witcher MMO, just becomes an MMO and its defining characteristic will be the quality of its gameplay.
