XCOM: Enemy Unknown Gets Steam Free Weekend

The XCOM: Enemy Within expansion is set for release in just over a month (Nov. 12), making now a terrific time to go back and save the world again from the alien menace in Firaxis’ stellar XCOM: Enemy Unknown.

What’s that you say? You still haven’t played Enemy Unknown? Sorry about this, but I’m going to have to revoke your Gamer card. And you no longer have an excuse not to, because XCOM: Enemy Unknown is free to download and play on Steam all weekend long.

As per free-weekend usual, Steam is also offering a major sale if you choose to buy after you try (trust me, you will). Enemy Unknown is 75% off and can be yours for $10. That’s a fantastic deal.

The first real expansion (not including the weaksauce Slingshot DLC), XCOM: Enemy Within, is also 10% off. So you can now by the core game and its impressive-looking expansion for $37. That’s less than XCOM: Enemy Unknown cost when it first launched.

Well played, Steam. Well played.
