Xperia Play Hits Verizon Next Week For $200, with Free Games

Sony Ericsson’s Playstation Phone, the Xperia Play, is finally making its way Stateside — exactly one week from today.

Preorders are on now at Verizon Wireless, the Play’s carrier, and the phone will run at $199 with a two-year contract. It’ll also require a $39 a month Nationwide Talk plan and a $29 a month smartphone data plan. The phone ships on May 26.

Out of the box, the phone comes with seven preloaded games: Asphalt 6: Adrenaline and Star Battalion from Gameloft, Madden NFL 11, Tetris and The Sims 3 from Electronc Arts, Bruce Lee Dragon Warrior from Indiagames Ltd.

Sony released the phone in a few other markets prior to the U.S., including in Asia and the U.K. The company hasn’t been seeing high sales of its downloadable PSOne titles, but it also doesn’t seem worried. The number of downloads that get pulled down might change, however, once the Play hits the big gamer market in North America.

Meanwhile, Gameloft is seeing some pretty good numbers on the device, and is offering exclusives for the Play ahead of other devices.

We’d like to hear from you guys — are you preordering an Xperia Play?
