Yep, Mike Is on the Cover of NBA 2K11

jordanThe best basketball player in history, the guy who Kobe and LeBron look boring in comparison with, the man who I saw, in person, play baseball as a member of the Birmingham Barons, and, most importantly, the guy who very rarely made appearances in video games,  is going to grace the cover of NBA 2K11. The natural assumption or hope, then, is that he’ll also be playable in the game, but the 2K Sports press release is vague on that point.

However, His Airness is quoted in the release as saying, “I’m looking forward to getting back out onto the court, virtually. Let’s hope they get my dunk from the foul line right,” and I can’t imagine they would include that if he weren’t going to be available in the game in some capacity.

Anyway, this is generally awesome. I haven’t bought an NBA game since NBA Jam on SNES, and I might actually take the plunge on this one, just because I’d like to be like Mike. The game hits stores on October 5.
