Yep, Those Leaked Destiny Deets Were Real

Yesterday, IGN was provided by a source with what was claimed to be concept art for Bungie’s upcoming game, Destiny. It all looked rather official, but who knows what is real and what is simply a clever hoax these days? Well, we now know these things are real, and they’re spectacular.

As of right now, Bungie’s site is down (I’m guessing everyone in the world went to check these things out), but Joystiq reports that they’ve confirmed the concept art and story elements were real, saying (sheepishly) “Go ahead. Take a peek. It’s alright. We weren’t quite ready, but we will be soon, and we can’t wait to finally show you what we’ve really been up to.”

The photo at the top of this post is from the leaked images; the game itself is described in the leaked documents as “fun and accessible to all,” aimed to “to create a universe as deep, tangible and relatable as that of the Star Wars franchise.”

The moment Star Wars was mentioned I saw these guys and thought, “These guys are a snow version rip-off of the Tusken Raiders.”

I’m…intrigued by the concept of Destiny (the game, not the idea, of course).

Still, it’s too early for me to make up my mind on it, though I do sincerely hope that it come out for PC, alongside every modern console and it’s dog

Forget the star wars similarity, I want to see how the technology functions in this new game. The tank looks awesome.
