Yet Another Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer DLC Discovered.

Perhaps the biggest disappointment about Mass Effect 3, besides the terrible ending that retroactively ruined an entire story, is the fact that BioWare, or perhaps EA, has simply gone all-in on pretending that the series is a Sci Fi Call of Duty, instead of a robust single player experience with 5 years of history… as a robust single player experience.

Say what you will about the explosion of DLC in gaming over the last few years, but at least Mass Effect 2′s DLC packs enhanced and expanded the actual game that players purchased. Mass Effect 3′s DLC, with the exception of the From Ashes day one pack that brazenly asked players to pretend they hadn’t removed a critical aspect of the story just to nick 10 extra bucks from their customers, has been nothing but bullsh*t multiplayer packets.

And that trend continues unabated. While we await the DLC that supposedly will fix the ending that everyone hates, (but will almost certainly just expand on it), BioWare/EA continues to issue multiplayer DLC packs for Mass Effect 3. And the latest has been spotted in China. Via Kotaku, a description of the newest multiplayer DLC, called ‘Rebellion’ apparently popped up on Sony’s Hong Kong site. Here’s a description they quoted:

The Rebellion Multiplayer Expansion opens two new fronts against the Reapers: Firebase Jade’s jungle reservoir and Firebase Goddess on Thessia. In-game reinforcement packs now include three new weapons as well as equipment, consumables, and six new classes: Quarian Engineer and Infiltrator, Vorcha Soldier and Sentinel, Phoenix Adept and Vanguard. The battle continues – hold the line!

Unfortunately, that verbiage, or at least the English language version, has been taken down. “Sorry, we couldn’t find the page you’re looking for” now graces the top of the page, and a search of the site yield’s no results. Sounds to us like they accidentally spilled the beans a bit early.

So, there you go. Still no ending DLC. But plenty of useless multiplayer on the way.

Seriously? Get over the fact that Mass Effect 3 has multiplayer and be happy that the multiplayer packs are free for the many people who enjoy it. Not sure if troll, fanboy or just stupid.

I’m so glad I found you guys recently. I had given up completely on gaming news websites and moved on to only relying upon (good) youtubers for information, as they seemed like the only honest players left in the game. It’s refreshing to see gaming journalists who look out for gamers instead of trying to defend the ludicrous industry trends of the last couple of years.

I completely agree. This is just one more step in the wrong direction.
But, on the bright side, just as the other commentors already said, at least I found this website over this me3 debacle

“Hold the line!”

Just wanted to point out that they’re trying to spin off the Retake movement’s momentum there for their own greedy bull, with just that itty bitty line at the end.

I hate EA…

I’m actually pretty excited about more multiplayer content incoming. I’ve always been a single-player gamer, had no intention of playing mass effect 3′s multiplayer, but then I tried it and loved it. I dont have much interest in single-player DLC for ME3. There is little point. I’ll check out the expanded ending to see if it makes it more palatable, but other than that, I am unlikely to purchase any single-player DLC. The series ended, and I’ve made my peace with it, I just don’t need any more content there. Additionally, [*****psuedo-spoiler*****] I am going to be very annoyed if the inevitable single-player DLC is the mission to take back Omega. I kept checking with Aria all game to see when we were going to do that and it never happened. It was noticeably absent and I have an awful feeling its going to be DLC when it should have been in the game.

But the multiplayer I can play with my friends and have a good time, so bring on new content, I say.

Quarian engineer and infiltrator are the male versions for those who were wondering. Im assuming they have unique powers aswell or it would be pretty pointless. Phoenix have be rumoured to be turian biotics, they are super rare but do exsist.

Two. Two multiplayer packs. Not ten. Two. The use of the phrase ‘yet another’ is hyperbolic and silly. Also, they have delayed the release of the singleplayer content, the lack of which you bemoan, in order to fix the very ending you are complaining about. Largely because many fans have threatened not to buy any SP content until the ending is improved. I don’t play any MP whatsoever, but Jeez, Bioware can’t do right for doing wrong at the moment can they? Fans can’t have it both ways.
