You Can Play Resident Evil 6 Co-op With As Many As Six Friends!

What’s that you say? Wandering through Resident Evil games with a friend or six is something you’ve wanted since the PSX era? Wait, no one has ever said that.

Yet that’s what we’re getting in Resident Evil 6, according to a list of features on Xbox.com, which details that the game will have six-player co-op and eight-player competitive multiplayer modes. Yup — shooting other people. Good thing, too, because the industry was running low on games like that.

Though Capcom says multiplayer will be a big component in the long-running survival horror series that has kind of turned away from being about either survival or horror of late, the company has also said we can expect RE6 to be a return to roots. With zombies, horror and survival, specifically. It’ll be interesting to see if they can get a survival-horror vibe to withstand having an entire tactical team of backup at all times.

“Who the hell told Capcom we wanted multiplayer in our Resident Evil games? I’d like to slap that person.”

Probably heard it form the same idiots that bought Dread Rising 2 and bough Dead Rising 2…again. ?

Co-op makes total sense in a survival-horror game. The only one I’ve seen that really did it well was Left4Dead, so a new one (esp. on PC) would be fantastic if its well executed.
