You Have To Play 20 Hours To Access Dark Souls DLC

Warning: If you’re looking forward to playing the Artorias of the Abyss DLC for Dark Souls, you’ve got some work ahead of you. The DLC, which launched yesterday on PSN and XBL, only becomes available late in the game. To access it, you must meet all of the following conditions:

* Defeat Hydra at Darkroot Basin
* Defeat Crystal Golem at Darkroot Basin and save Dusk of Oolacile
* Defeat Crystal Golem at Duke’s Archive and get Broken Pendant
* Touch Black Fog at lake in Darkroot Basin where player defeat Hydra

Namco Bandai confirms that players won’t be able to access the DLC without checking off all four of these requirements. Normally, this wouldn’t be a problem, but since Dark Souls is one of the HARDEST GAMES IN THE WORLD, players should expect to be punished for their purchase. Artorias of the Abyss adds some maps and environments, plus new bosses, enemies and NPCs, multiplayer content and so on. It’s bundled with the digital version of the Prepare to Die edition.

I am not a pro at the game and from the start i would be able to get to the dlc levels in less than 3-4 hours the game is not designed for the average gamer it is a test to you acquired skill knowledge of the industry and similar games so players should not be buying this dlc if you have not completed the game at least once and do not enjoy the challenge that it in-tales. So you may be right but punishment is the aim of this game and it does not at any point reward you for mistakes so why would it do so here.
As another point the DLC has been placed in a position of great LORE relevance and this is a very important thing for alot of players seeing as the Dark souls lore is very interesting and deep impact on the game in many ways so it would be terrible for them to have to change the lore just for the people who are not able to get to the DLC starting point and make the game worse in doing so.
Furthermore if you are unable to reach the DLC then there is no chance that you will be able to beat the first enemy you find there and then what is the point of playing it.
