Your Computer Is Gonna Need An Elastic Waistband For Modular Combat 2.0.0
Sweet Zombie Jesus this is cool. Almost a year to the day after saying they’ll do it, Mod Fidelity actually managed to release Moduler Combat 2.0.0, and it’s bigger than America’s collapsing infrastructure problem. Yes yes, they have jettisoned most of the changes they rolled out last year (they’re promising to insinuate them into 2.0.0 later on), but who cares? 2.0.0 is jam-packed with improvements to the OG game, like new maps, enhanced scoreboard, new modules, better combat functions, improved storage (account and suit info handled by SQL), improved experience point accumulation, and of course, a gratuitous decimal point.
After the jump, viddy the trailer and download links.
Some of you might need more information, so here goes: Modular Combat is a Half-Life 2 mod (aren’t they all, really) set in a corporate testing facility, where three factions battle to the death for (presumably) extra vacation days, but also the exciting chance to keep being alive. “Modular” refers to the more than 50 modules you collect that can be combined pretty much infinitely. Want an exploding teleporter? Check. How about flight + deadly henchmen? Also check. Just grab, combine, kill. It’s like Borderlands, only fun*!
PS: You’re gonna need Source SDK Base 2007, Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode One, Half-Life 2: Episode Two, and Half-Life 2: Deathmatch. STEAM! WE CALL UPON YOUR POWER. Still interested? Get 2.0.0 here.
*Yeah, I said it.
