Greetings, im looking for a modding team to work on a Sea based TC.

now don't get the wrong idea about the thread title, it's not your averege "go looking for atlantis thing" infact it hardley has anything to do with atlantis... well sort of..

i was thinking more in the style of the good old tri-mast sailing ships and so on.

i have been carefully studying the BF1942 engine and have found that the mod i was thinking of is completley doable.

mostly concentrating on old school sea war but with a mix of "Fantasy elements" meaning you have a few cool looking ships in battle on the highseas and then some aircrafts swoop in for a taste of the action (think Final Fantasy games and the Atlantis adventure game) thease sailing ships whould ofcourse be in a classic style, a few rows of cannons on either side (Can be done by making 1 gunner control either port or starboard side cannon rows) and they'd have some smaller boats attached to the sides for same purposes as the landing craft in the original game.

and now to the fantasy elements: dont go thinking about magic and crap like that... no no. this is mostly about the visual style of the ships and about the aircrafts i was talking about.

the aircraft whould be an interesting twist into the concept, as they whould look like smaller flying boats with vertical "wings" on the sides, im not really sure about the weapons involved at the moment but that will be solved eventualy.

As for the actual infantry, their weapons whould be done like this: Knife = Sword Pistol = 18th century pistols Rifle = late 18th century muskets grenade = ball with a fuse?

And actual appearance: soldiers might be in classic 18th century uniform style (watch the patriot) OR have evryone run around looking like pirates.. he he.

the team i'd like to have with me working on this: 2 or 3 modelers 2 skinners 2 coders

PS: there are a few basic requrements for even being a part of the project. 1. team members have to be open-minded people. 2. have to have some knowledge of real sailing ships. 3. have to have a boosted sence of imagination.

around 11.000 BC according to myth, there was a great war between Ancient greece and Ancient Atlantis...

A war where Atlantis were the attackers in an attempt to expand their great empire, however in the war against ancient greece... the greeks were indeed overwhelmed by the atlantian forces and almost lost the war. BUT due to several unknown events the greeks pushed the atlantians back to atlantis, which inevidably led to the chaotic downfall of the atlantian empire and the entire continent.

by studying thease myths you can get a pretty good idea of what was suposed to have happend, however i feel that it whould be pretty boring to go with exact details about weaponry used in this era.

but more about that later... the myth give a great setting as to the sides in the war.

Atlantis VS Greece

Atlantis forces: the atlantians whould use some more hyped and mystical weaponry, as very cool looking ships and the "Flying boats" descibed in my preveus post, as to the actual appearence, the atlantians might look more like ancient china in style (clothing), i think this whould indeed look great in combination the the vehicles and tech used.

Greek forces: the greek forces whould also be hyped BUT still seem a litte more modern (Historicly modern 1700 - 1800) but hyped as to some details but very brute in style... ships could very well be done in old historic ancient greece style but with 18th century weaponry, while aircraft could also be implemented but made to look more like the wright brothers aircraft (sort of). But as to appearence, lets just make em all look like pirates.

as to a detail in Armor vehicles: aromor units and artillery could very wel either be good old catapults (trebuché) or could be in more the style of bronze cannons and so on, basicly those who like tanks and land based combat more whould not be missing out on anything and whould get a nice twist to what theyre used too when the TC is finished.
