Hey, I'm still learning about BC and all it's features and am wondering how I can create one large building. Ok, here's what I'm trying to do, I'm trying to recreate a school but there's no wall in the objects list. I'm not sure how to create a wall or anything either. Anyone have any ideas on how to do it?

BTW: I've tried using the samples but I can't seem to get them to work. I'll be completely honest, I'm not sure how to tell if they're working. Right now, the .sample files are all in the EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\standardMesh folder. I'm not sure what to do once I place them in there. Any help would greatly appreciated.

Hi Screwz Luse,

Are you trying to create just a big square block or a proper building, cause if it's a proper building you will need to use a 3D modelling program like 3DS max.

I'm trying to create a building that is mostly a bunch of rectanles and squares (as it has no circular rooms and stuff). Is it possible to make this building without using a 3D program and if not, are there any resources (sites) that I can find info on creating buildings in a 3D program?

Sorry to tell you this but battlecraft does not let you create your own builds it has no walls or any other object to help you make them you must use the ones that come with the program.

A mesh is what describes the buildings walls, doors, windows etc (and also any other placeable objects like trees and things (ie: treemesh). The mesh is created in a 3D program and textured, then imported into battlefield. It's like a net of connected lines that define all the edges and sides of an object. The more edges and corners your objest has the more lines in the mesh, which translates in the game to faces, vertexes and poly counts. So keeping your mesh as simple as possible means your level will run better on lower end video cards.

Have fun
