I am new to bf, and I am wanting to download new skins for aircraft and other objects, I know how to extract and compress my files back to rfa, I am adding files to my texture.rfa file that installs w bf, not a mod. all my textures are there in single play, but when i try to connect to a bf server it says my files are not compatible with server, why dose it matter if i replace some of my deflaut skins with new ones. I'll be the one seeing them not anyone else, is it punkbuster or what, now I have been able to replace some of the default sounds in the sound.rfa with new sound files and i can connect to the same server that rejected my texture file but accepts my sound file, I don't understand can you guy's please explain what i need to do if there is anything i can do. or do i have to play standerd bf w the default skins online. I have the game patch 1.6, I just want to replace some of the games default skines w better ones and be able to play standerd bf online w out haveing incompatable files. or if i change my skines will i only be able to use them in single play, thanks :furious:
It matters because it is considered a "cheat". You can, and ppl have, replaced the ememy skins with bright red skins to make them easy to spot, therefore giving them an unfair advantage over other players.

Oh yes, please do not spam the boards with multiple identical questions.
I was afraid of that. tks :uhm: , I just wanted more realistic skins not to cheat, so theres no way around it. How dose the game see it as a cheat,is it done by file size. seince everyone should have the same size texture.rfa file
I find it alittle odd that you can set up a dedicated server as bias as you want to one side or the other with fog or damage settings, yet we can't have our oun texture files on our client side of the game and thats seen as cheating.
I have the same problem. This is bs. Is there any way to use custom textures in Battlefield 1942 with the 1.6 patch?
