For a 13yr old its gonna be really hard to make a MOD, even a small MOD, unless your read up on alot of stuff and have alot of freetime on your hands

You willl need a good understanding of computer programing. You will also need to learn how 2 model and skin using a appropiate program.

3D Studio Max works good for Moddeling and I think you can skin in that program also, not sure though. Battlecraft for maps. And some Hex Editors help in programming but that probably won't work good. I am also curios on good programming software.

3dmax is a good program to start on

here is a few problems

EXTREMELY complicated EXTREMELY expensive EXTREMELY time consuming

you might want to have more than one person on your team

i have 8 on mine

and there is more than just modeling and skins for a mod

editing the physics of a model under standing the physics of a model

im 16 and its proving to be hard

i reccomend you make the 2d while you learn 3d stuido max then make the models OR import another mods models and see how they did it then after all the models are done make your own maps if you wish

I'm 14, been doing programming stuff since around 8 yrs old. I know PHP, CGI, C++, and (of course) html. I am advanced in 3d modelling/skinning. Just putting that in cause a few people were mentioning 13 yr olds wouldn't wanna learn programming...

I also want to know how to mod. I've modded for Half-Life but this is different to me. I don't have a general idea of how to mod. I know how to split open .rfa archives but just not too sure about certain things such as functions of vehicles, how to make new vehicles, etc.

I've also tried to use stupid battlecraft but it won't open other mods, just tells me to create one. When I do, it only lists maps in bf1942 and none for mods.
