Is there any way to modify the 1.4 objects.rfa to enable the 3rd person view for soldiers? NO I'm not cheating. I want to use it for single player. But I'm having a hell of a time getting the 1.2 mod to work with 1.4.

I put the objects.rfa file in mods/3rdperson/archives. When I try to activate the mod it crashes to the desktop. I think I might be editing the init.con file wrong. Any help would be appreciated!

The external soldier view only worked for 1.3. As of now the gaming leagues and the merciless creations mod consider it a cheat. Although when in 3rd person you cant shoot accurately like you can in 1st. I have gotten 3rd to work with 1.4. It just takes a little know how and editing. I dont find it nessecary because i see the same skins on my teammates. The 1.4 patch took away cheats (so ea thought).

It's still nice to have though. So I guess with 1.4 it's slightly more complicated than putting a new objects.rfa in the mod folder?

theres a little mod in the mini mods files called

BERLIN MOD by PANZERJAGER

its only 6.49 MB ads SS camo uniforms and a couple new tank skins in berlin. its nicely done though. I use it for single player coop has external view and flyby view for infantry. Ive loaded mecilless textures in it blood patch and all no problem with 1.4 as there is no filters for single player

hope you try it i use it all the time.

Hmm, this is getting even more weird. I installed the Berlin mod and it does the same exact thing when I try to activate it. Crashes back to the desktop. I thought maybe it's my forced 100hz refresh rate but even after putting the videodefault.con file in the BerlindMod/Settings folder (With renderer.allowallrefreshrates 1) it doesn't work. Helpx0r!

this mod should not have a settings file. did you install it and try it as the plain folder in your bf1942 mods folder. you dont need to bother with the movies or music mentioned in the read me just install it and activate it in custom game and try it as a coop. if so your problem is somewhere else. is your basic bf42 singleplyer working alright. the video default con file tweakes always cause me grief so i avoid messing with settings file myself. good luck.

Yeah, single player works ok and the refresh rate fix is enabled. It's only when I try to activate a custom game that it crashes. Does installing a no-cd patch screw things up?

I dont have any info about no cd patches but i would try to start the game with the cd key.

Do you have any other mods like D.C. or E.O.D. soldier 9 installed in your game. Do they, work D.C. supports coop.

THis no CD patch may only be keyed to battlefield, i dont really know. I just like to trouble shoot problems sometimes i get lucky.

You know what, it really was the no cd patch. I had to reinstall the game and use the cd. It's annoying so I guess I'll use Alcohol 120%. Now I can make some of my own mods. w00t

Thanks for the input guys!
