I did everything the readme says but i cant get it to work. After i installed it the graphics were all outa wack with white tanks and weird textures. Can someone please help me out.
Also if you guys are planning on making a realism mod i have a suggestion. You should make tanks blow up with more than just 3-4 grenades, six sounds good to me. Make the anti-tank weapons stronger so that it takes 2 hits instead of 3-4 to destroy tank. And make the engineer's rifle stronger because there shouldn't be a difference between the sniper rifle and the engineer's since its the same gun but it has no scope. I find myself killing people easily with one shot in the chest with the sniper version but with the engineers it takes more shots and is compounded by the fact that it reloads very slowly.
I just came up with a idea for a map: Pearl Harbor!!!
I have a question too. Is the retail dedicated server patch for the demo or the retail version? If it is for retail, will this fix my MP lag problems? I have dsl and it lags for some reason, thats why i ask.

Somewhere along the line you put the textures in the wrong place, that's why everything went all snowy and psychedelic on you. I'd need more of a step by step process of what you did to help troubleshoot it. Try it again though but pay careful attention to where you're extracting the textures folder, and make sure you rename the original texture.rfa to something besides texture.rfa, or you'll probably get some conflicts.
If it says retail in it, it's for the full store-bought game. I haven't used the Retail Dedicated Server program because the demo ded. server would try to uninstall the mp demo and I can't run a server that'd be worth anything anyway. However, I don't think installing the Dedicated Server will help your lag. It's more likely caused by your audio settings or video settings.
I extracted texture.rfa with the RFA extracter to the same folder as texture.rfa and i went inside the "texture" folder and replaced flags_o.dds. Then i renamed texture.rfa to texture.rfa.old just like the readme said. Hope this makes it clearer. If i dont run a dedicated server then i guess i dont need the update or do i?
I figured it out myself! I was supposed to put the texture folder in the battlefield 1942 folder. Now it works!
