1) Download the RFA Extractor from the main site 2) Install the RFA Extractor 3) Make a new folder to store backups, preferably outside of your main Battlefield 1942 folder 4) Run RFA Extractor and open texture.rfa in ...\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods\bf1942\Archives. Choose Extract all and set the destination to be your backup folder. It should run for a while and you should see a new folder called "texture" in your destinated folder. 5) Now you can drop any new texture you have into this folder, replacing the old ones 6) Move this whole texture folder into the main directory (...\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\) 7) Move the texture.rfa in the ...\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods\bf1942\Archives to somewhere else, preferably your backup folder from before. The texture folder in main WILL NOT work if texture.rfa still exist in the Archives folder 8) Done.

Any new texture you want to use, just place them in the texture folder. If you want to go back to your old textures, just remove the texture folder from main and move texture.rfa back into Archives.

This also worked with sounds. I downloaded DOD and MOH sounds and pick and choose my own, making a combination of original, DOD and MOH sound effects.

VonMeyer> read the instructions a bit more carefully.

DON'T put the sounds folder in bf1942\Archives. ANY extracted folder should go in your MAIN Battlefield 1942 folder. Also make sure that sound.rfa is no longer in Archives (or any other folder in Battlefield 1942 main folder).

Good luck!
