I'm using MadBulls Map Editor I found on bf1942files.com, v1.2. I've got it running, and I've made sure I used the DOS program to isntall the resources. I began to create my map, and have discovered that the editor only allows me to add static objects, no vehicles, no people, no flags, etc. Why is this? Is there a better and easier editor with more options avaliable other than this editor?

Do you have the Microsoft .Net framework installed? You need that to run BC42. Get it from the microsoft website.

the madbulls editor only has preset libraries for the static objects. you need to add the templates for the spawnpoints, the controlpoints and the soldierspawns yourself before you can add them to the map.

look in the folder called 'conquest' you will see controlpoints.con controlpointTemplates.con objectspawns.con objectspawntemplates.con soldierspawns.con soldierspawnstemplates.con spawnpointmanagersettings.con

now, every file that contains 'template' in its name defines the properties of the controlpoints, spawns and soldierspawns. you need to add these templates yourself. for objectspawns you can open up an existing level of bf and copy paste the templates you want. for controlpoints and soldierspawns things are a bit more complicated. basically the easiest way to do it is to think of what controlpoints you will be placing and copying the templates a number of times from an existing map and altering the values. soldierspawns have a template for each spawn, so you have to open up a template file from an existing map and look how it's done there.

good luck :)
