THERE SHOULD BE BRITS THERE, NOT AMERICANS!

Woops... forgot about that. I've got the Merciless mod installed, and it fixes this.

You're right about the berlin-style scenery, but there need to be lots of hills and forest as well, and what is "heide" called in English?

The houses on the OMG-map are the correct style I think. When I saw them the first time, I thought: "hmm, this looks familiar". Some houses have the "lower-class" look, like they still can be seen in the "Geitenkamp-quarter" of Arnhem. The larger houses look like the buildings are in the center of Arnhem. These are old gregorean and neo-classical buildings. The Musis Sacrum building is a great example of this. musis.jpg

On the south side of the rine they should remove the windmill and add some houses there too.

well, there was a windmill somewhere there, but not at that location. The buildings at that side of the bridge were mostly farms (Arnhem-Zuid/South). These can be used by soldiers to hide their armour and stuff, so they would be cool as a vehicle-spawn point.

The second (stone) bridge should not be there (or in ruble, which is great scenery) since in WWII that bridge was blown before the para's could reach it.

Then it won't be a stone bridge in rubble, but more something like a girder-bridge in pieces in the water. That would look cool I think. Maybe there's enough rubble in there, to walk across the Rhine to the other side, but not for vehicles.

This simulates the advantage the allies had in surprise over the axis.

There was not much of a surprise here. The "enemy" knew all the plans, since they took a copy of the plans from a crashed glider...

- Planes should be removed from the map since there was no aircover for the para's during Market Garden (which is one of the reasons it failed). Tanks should stay but only for gameplay reasons.

True. Planes there only for scenery. Wrecks of gliders and stuff. Tanks were there... Lots of tanks. They were dropped using gliders, and so were the jeeps. So the allied can use a lot of vehicles (mostly the light stuff)

- Axis should get a second spawn point up north where infantery and jeeps/APC spawn, this gives the allies a feel of being surrounded (which of course, they were) and balance the game more.

Great idea! :naughty: The allies were dropped straight into enemy territory. When you watch the movie "A Bridge Too Far", you get a good feeling of that.

Maybe someone can draw a "map" of how the final thing should look?

There were a lot of houses on the south bank of Arnhem in the area called "Marlburgen": 06_01.jpg13_01.jpg12_01.jpg

They found it on the first day so after that surprise was lost but the first day was one of nasty surprises for the nazi's...

Tanks? I know of jeeps with mounted .303, bicicles, mopeds, artillery and some tracktors but tanks? Can you provide some links to that information? Can't seem to find it... :(

I totally agree with the rest of your post :)
