i kinda figured out gmax, but i would like to know how I would place the model ingame. I still have to make a model first

same here! i've used a bit of milkshape and gmax before but couldn't get the models in game! it was for jedi knight 2, got a model finished but i couldn't seem to find relevant stuff for the problems i was having! if anyone who know how the whole process is done i'd be most grateful! :bows:

you have to downlaod some plugins that will export your model into bf1942 format. You can find the plugins in the unofically sdk. I perfere 3ds max over gmax because 3ds is much better but alot more expesive $$$$$$.

cool, cheers. how do you go about editing the models characteristics etc? like if i was making a jeep, putting guns on the vehicle, how many positions etc. and how about the animations? like making the wheels turn when going forward sorry for all the questions but i'd like to know all the stuff for doing this is out there before diving in again! :confused:

dude, same thing. I have Milkshape, cant do nothing with what I make.

and I have AutoCAD 12 and 3D studio, not 3DStudioMax though. I used to have access to that even, but it wasn't mine (my father's job owned it)

Anyway, I'm OK at modelling, I just want to be able to use what I make.

same here, not excellent or anything but after putting the hours in creating a dr evil model for jedi knight 2, i was very pissed when i couldn't get the thing in game cause of problems with the skeleton! :furious:

just trying to find out this time what i need first :D

I want t odo weapons modeling, but I cant seem to figure out how to make a good gun. rules of thumb for the various parts?
