when i do all that (the first set of instructions) i get teh lovely white buildings and people, with the good old europe ground. and i made sure i have no other texture.rfa files, so what i want to know is, can i just take all my downloaded dss files and use rfa maker to make them a rfa and stick that in my bf folder, so thers no extracting and screwing up of textures?

oh and in 1.2 u take the texture.rfa from mods\bf1942\archives and u stick ur texture folder there (mods\bf1942\archives) btw that lil yen thingie(its a yen thingie for me) is supposed to be / <--that only backwards..over the enter key

i've done all this but i still get default skins ingame... i've extracted texture.rfa and removed it, and copied the custom Texture folder to /mods/bf1942/archives but its still default

i got it sorted (i'm not british!!) seems like bf'42 actually found a texture.rfa in my desertcombat mod file and used it!!

you don't have to make the .dds files into an .rfa, managed to get it right (although 4 hours and 11 cups of coffee later)

but ofcourse there had to be a problem, i have this chrome skin and sometimes it reflects poorly or reflects a big un-antialiased black line

BTW: can anyone tell me what file is used to create the sky (?.dds or ?.rfa) i seem to have lost it somewhere

the Archives folder used to be in Battlefield1942/Archives but since 1.2 version it is now in Battlefield1942/Mods/bf1942/Archives

Ok im not getting this to work... First off.. im running Mercilies Creations Modification. Secondly, Ive already extracted all the texture_*.rfa's to a folder called 'textures'. I put the textures folder under the directory of "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods\bf1942" so my texture folder is: C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods\bf1942\textures\

Ive removed any textures.RFA after decompilling them all into textures and now when i start my game i get white textures.. Ill try without the Mod running and see if I still get the problems....

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\textures\ was the correct folder but i forgot about the texture.rfa in the Blood Mod...
