Hi, I made some custom objects for my battle of Arnhem map (a viaduct and a fence). well they aren't really custom, I used parts of the bf's Ironbridge (the arnhem/operation-MG bridge). It looks ok ingame but it is buggie: When you shoot at the sidewalk gras will be thrown into the air, and when you drive a vehicle over it you see clouds of dirt behind the vehicle... The game thinks the sidewalk is made of grass. The same as above goes for the fence. But it has an other problem as well: When you hit it (even at very low speed) you car will explode. The game thinks the fence is made of grass. When you drive over the road (of the viaduct) you car will steer odd, you can't jump while on the road and you can throw grenades through the road, when you jump from the sidewalk onto the road water will splash around you. The game thinks the road is made of (frozen?) water. Could anybody with some knowledge of 3ds max and bf1942 help me? Below are my 2 troubled custom objects in 1 rar file. Here are somescreenshots of the troubled viaduct: Screenshot_31.jpgScreenshot_32.jpg Thanks in advance, Rob (aka Großadmiral Dönitz)

The material is screwed up. I think that happens when you don't specify one.

Suitable materials:

96 (stone stars) 97 (wood stars) 98 (iron stars)

Those are the only materials that i could find with names, and that would work for what you want. Iron stars would probably be best. I don't know much about that stuff, but i'm pretty sure the material can be forced when you export the model into the BF1942 format. It might also be set in Objects.con.

ah thanks, so I have to change the ID=1 (in 3ds max) to ID=98? (or something like that, i guess there has to be a list somewhere online) Wouldn't 96 be the best option for the viaduct and 98 for the fence? EDIT: Oops, i updated my website and now the wrong screenies show up! these are the ones i posted originally: Screenshot_37.jpgScreenshot_38.jpg

I don't have 3D max, but thats probably right. And your right about the materials. I don't know crap about modeling and i didn't know you can have multible materials on the same model. Good luck with them.

I finally tested your idea and it worked! You see bits of concrete coming off when you shoot at it etc. the only problem is that cars cant drive any faster then about 10 km/h over it! So i'm forced to use an other ID. There has to be a list somewhere, i did a google surch and some forum surched (here, bf42.com, and some more) and found nothing. I'm surching for a good ID for concrete and a good ID for iron. Could anybody help me?
