Hello all,

I'm not sure if this has already been asked but since this game has been out for over 4 months I bet at one point of time or another it has, so please bare with me.

As everyone knows, several "static objects, textures, weapons & vehicles" from the rtr expansion can be found within the original BF42 data files if you know where to look. Objects that are not available or seen in BF42 but can be found in the expansion. While looking through some files I came across this line:

"rem run ../../../Tools/Editors/Editors.con"

After I post this I am going to look for a way to extract or view .CON files. Again, i'm sure that this has already been talked about & thus it's old news. I know that we all want an "Official" editor, Could it be that it is already hidden deep within the game? Since stuff from the expansion was hidden within the original game, could an editor be hidden as well?

Thank you for your time.

but that can also be an editor inside the game that you use whenever you play the game, like amount of bots for SP, or amount of time till respawn wave, etc

What do you mean extract or view con files? You can gaze at them all day long with notepad or any other text editor. That is how everyone has been making mods to date, by extracting cons from the rfa files. Since the line is rem'd out, chances are it isn't in there. I wish it were. It's tiring basically reverse engineering this thing and modding by hand. There is stuff I (and MANY others) would like to do with the game that I can't because no one seems to knows what all of the allowable .con commands are or even what they all do. And some of the commands that obviously SHOULD do something, don't. This game SHOULD have an editor included dammit....

Sure, it's hard, but it really makes you feel like you've done something. Any half-witted jackass can fire up an editor and make a mod, but few players have the devotion or patience to reverse-engineer just about the whole game (as I did). Of course, there goes Tech Support :D .

I have a single player mod going now where the B-17 is a roving drop point for paratroops - works great on Market Garden, and looks really cool from the ground seeing the bots spawn in there. I can't release it yet because the program has a bug - when you try to spawn in and the plane is "full" and at altitude you die instantly. Doesn't do this if the plane is on or near the ground. There IS a command to "lock" a spawn point if it is full, but it doesn't work with the B-17 for some reason. Have you found a way to up the capacity of an object? I figure if I set it high enough, it won't ever be full...
