I have been trying for some time to either chrome or shine (via the alpha layer) the jeeps/kubelwagons to no avail. I was wondering if anyone out there knows how to shine the jeeps/kubelwagons. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hey, to make ur skins have a shiny/chrome appearance using photoshop7 (yay) open ur file and on the chanels thing select alpha 1. When you do this the skin will turn greyish, to make an area shinier just make it darker, not 2 dark though it looks f***ed up
I tried that already

yeah I tried editing the alpha channel it doesn't work. I think it has something to do with the mesh itself. Try it yourself if you don't believe me.

What happens when you try to shine the jeep, does it just go transparent then or what? I'm curious, because others have said the same thing about the B-17, which is a damn shame, because most of them late in the war were bare shiny metal.
I had a similar problem on my "Chrome Pony" Mustang skin with the canopy frame. If you darken the alpha at all from white (masked), it just goes transparent. Even totally masked it is transparent at certain angles. You can see this in the stock skin - when you walk around the plane you can see background stuff through the metal frame. Evidently, when they made the original model, they made the whole canopy transparent, both frame and glass, in the 3d program.
That see through deal sounds like a graphics driver issue. I think that the shine ability is set in the mesh itself. Because, like you said, the B-17, obviously the "jeeps", and the (intrestingly enough) german grenades. I will have to look for it in 3ds Max.
To actually answer your question, when I try to chrome the jeeps nothing happens at all.

when i open skins in photoshop 7 they are all pink, i cant changed the damn color either ?? why?
sounds like you have the aplha channel selected. If you go to the little window that has the layers and click the tab that has channels on there should be 5 selections in that window make sure you have the RGB channel selected and the eye next to the channel is on all channels but the alpha. If you do that then your skins shouldn't be pink and also you should be able to change the colors.
