it would be sweet if there was blood left on the spot where a soldier died...for the rest of the level, eventually the entire battlefield would be sprayed in blood...something like a "halo" effect would rock! you guys wanna try it out?
That'd be pretty resource-intensive. Most games fade out their old decals - blood, scorchmarks, bullet holes - when they reach a certain time or amount. That's done to keep them all from filling the memory and dropping the frames to 2 fps. Think about it - 64 players is the max game size. Each person in an average game dies maybe five times. That's over THREE HUNDRED decals. Plus you have to remember that the number could be DOUBLE that amount or even MORE in particularly frantic games. So while it's a cool idea, it's just not feasible. And besides, it'd have to be done EXTREMELY well for it to be worth getting. White outlines around the blood and only two patterns are some of the problems that come to mind.
i agree...so why not have it be like how the actual kit dissapears after the body...have blood stains under it, or a blood stained kit? that you switch with kinda resembling we were soldiers
