Theres gotta be someone in here that can tell me what program they are using to model. Heres what ive tried:

Milkshape: I click import then Refracter 2. i find the .sm and .rs files and click ok and i get an error and the program closes.

Gmax: Anyway i try it just gives me an error but doesnt close the program.

What am i doing wrong?:confused:

i dont know much about modeling..but from what ive heard though, you cant use gmax for bf42..soo i dont know if you d still want to use that

What kind of error message do you get?I use milkshape myself and don't have problems in opening files of larger objects,smaller ones like handweapons don't work with milkshape.There's a thread in the Modding Theater's forum,in which DaCrapper explains some limitations of milshape.I recommend that you ask DC about your problem.He's really a helpful soul.

Oh, no wonder!:rolleyes: Ive been trying to open handweapons. So what program works with hand weapons?:p

Hmm. I tried to open a spitfire and i still got the error. it says MS3D has caused an error in MSVCRT.DLL, MS3D will now close.:(

This sounds like an error in your system,maybe a missing or corrupted dll.Maybe you check out MS-techsupport.

Ok, i finally got it to open in 3ds max 5. I click export mesh in rex's tools thing and there is no ok button. What do i do to save my work?:confused:

similar to above, would a helmet be considered a small model? Small enough to cause the reported error in Milkshape?
