I am, I want to hear the opinion of the 1 or 2 people that actually look in this section. :)

The game has already been made.

I'll assume you're talking about it's discontinued multiplayer support from The Zone.

In which case, there are alternatives - the game allows for direct IP connections. There are sites and IRC channels dedicated to 'matchmaking' for AoE2 games.

There's Hamachi if you're really desperate, but that thing makes you so vulnerable the mere acknowledgement of it's existence makes me feel like a traitor.

AoE2 still has the capability for life in it, the only way it's dying out is because no one wants to play it any more.

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

I honestly don't care about online, what I care about is your opinion on it not being made anymore.

Uh, would you mind clarifying on what you mean by that? It's already made. :/

Personally I love AoE2, if not simply for the single player. It was probably the first PC RTS I ever played and introduced me to many other genres that I probably wouldn't even be interested in right now.

Perhaps if I was desperate to play it, I might be.

But I already did play it 8 or 9 years ago, and I still have my copy. In fact, I recall seeing it in EB Games just the other day, and I occasionally find originals in stores, and there must be millions of second-hand copies, so it's not hard to get either.

I mean what if they stopped making it, I worded the title wrong, because I am stupid.

/me goes off and searches the old CD stash. Yep it's here. Made alright.

You mean if it never did come out? Well then I would not be mad, angry, or sad to be honest, since I would have no idea what it might have been. And for the record AOE2 is far better than 3.

The truth is, while it was a game of a time, there were other rts games in the same timezone that had a similar if not larger impact on the rts scene than AOE 2 ever could have. Nevertheless I made my first map ever for Aoe2.

You mean if they discontinued the AoE series? That makes more sense.

If they discontinued the AoE series.... well, I suppose it might not be that big a loss. There are other, far more strategic, series out there now.

Try blending a bit of AoE with deeper strategy, and some 4X elements. Pure win.

Wait, what's wrong with Hamachi? I recently downloaded it and judging by your posts it sounds like it makes me vulnerable to a virus or something?
