I am having a little problem with my editor and I am sure someone can tell me what I am doing wrong. I would like to make shallows on rivers so that people AND ships can cross. Problem is 1st, the only shallows that show up are desert looking... so if I want to make a winter map it looks retarted. 2nd, only ships will cross, land based units act like its not there. How do I make it that people will cross shallows/ice and how do I get shallows that are not desert looking?
Also, the computer players dont move or build up like they do in Age Of Empires 1&2... why is it so crappy?
Well I tried to find the answer to your first question by raising the elevation on the water it worked and units could walk through the water but then ships could'nt get through so I am also puzzled. I answer to your second question to get the computer player to do things you need to go to player data then you will see an Ai thing when you go into it there will be a list of ai so just try some out and see which you like best. But to get them to build on setlements you need the ailgn them to the grid (which you can do with the titans) there is just an option in the objects menu thats says "align selected unit to grid" or something.
Ok, thank you for your help. If anyone has more info on the shallows please lemme know. I also wish AOM had that auto-generating map and seed maps like AOE I&II did, is there a way to do that?
Since I haven't played AOM for a long time, I think I remember that there is no such water that allows ships and people to pass. What do you mean by auto-generated maps and seed maps? Do you mean maps that are templates or something else? For the templates, you just go to create a new map and you bring down the arrow by the map side and choose a map.
And that template will have an already made map waiting to modified (or left alone) by me?
Ok thanks for that, thats what I was looking for there.
I still have trouble getting the AI to work. When I click the AI next to the CPU player, this stupid box pops up and wants me to open a file. Well I select different files and then they still don't do anything but sit on their rear ends waiting for me to kill them.
That and shallows are still wack.
