I'm curious. I've been playing AoM for a couple of months now and I'm wondering why there are so many different units. I say this because it seems that all you really need to do to beat a game is to build a few powerful myth units, a few siege weapons, and take out the opponent's town center. There's not a lot of use for all the other units. Now granted, it might be different playing on the 'next-to-impossible' mode, instead of just Hard. I can't say, I tried it and had my butt handed to me in little pieces. :uhm: I'm just wondering where strategy comes in. The AI certainly doesn't use any that I've been able to tell. Is it just me?
No. The AI is programmed to attack your town center only. Ever seen it go past your army without attacking it?
Now that you mention it, I HAVE seen that. Frequently. Maybe they'll make the AI a little more intelligent in future incarnations. That would make the game even more fun than it already is.
You could otherwise scipt a more "intelligent" AI yourself.
uh i've had that happen to me, but lots of times it attacks my gold miners or if my offense army is counter-invading, the opposing force stops to attack mine.
hum, just set it at a more difficult level.... ::rolleyes::
Did I mention that the AI also wants to take out economy too?
meh, seems to go straight for town center then when it gets to a certain distance the troops attack w/e they want
