I've done editing on other Age of Empires games, but it seems the editor for this is a bit different. I've got my map all set up, placed the enemies starting stuff (it's supposed to be a map, one player vs two AI's who greatly outnumber him, but the player has the advantage of cliffs and such that give him a naturally fortified location)

Anyways, when I test the scenario, the ai players do nothing. They sit and do nothing at all. What am I doing wrong?

It was a while i ago since i played AOM but in the editor i think you have to go into Scenario->Players-> And here on the far right side there's a button called 'Load AI' for every players. Load an AI for the computer players.

yeah, that's the part Im having a bit of trouble with. I don't know which of those files does what, heh. They all have weird names. Edit: followup. The map I was making is a rather large one, and a bit of google research turns out that many of the AI's don't play on big maps for whatever reason. I've found a site that offers downloadable AI files, and I've gotten one suited for large maps.

You need to find a really decent AI to download. Most of them are fairly substandard. Try finding one either here or here.
