1. How do I make "special attacks" for new units? (e.g. Ajax's Shield Bash) 2. How do I make new frames of animation for models in Gmax? 3. How do I add custom terrain/cliff/water types for the editor? 4. How do I make a new unit have several names? (e.g Hersir) 5. How do I change the UI? 6. How do I add a technology? 7. How do I make new units bigger? (NOT the pressing K in editor thing, making a new unit larger permanantly, not temporarily in the editor) And if someone ever figures out how to do it... 8. How do I make a new civilization? (I don't want any answers on this unless it is a thorough and easy to understand explanation of adding a civ, not "Well I don't know, just mess with the proto")

i know i'm not supposed to say this, but can i just teach you intermediate modding on IM? That way i can answer all your questions and you can figure out any future ones yourself. By george, "make a new civ," "make a new civ," edit techtree, proto, ui, and majorgods.xml. then create a whole crapload of new units and you're set. if i told you how to make a new civ in this post, it would take up a lot of pages, and i'm NOT going to do that. lol

1)Not sure but you could try mixing anims with other units... 2)Never tried that 3)Find the model/texture and replace it 4)Edit proto (pretty sure there is a list of random names there) 5)UI is in the textures.bar file, change it into an img file (eg. jpg, bmp) 6)Learn C++ and xml(You could ask me but "No") 7)Open the unit in gmax and drag the points. (just be sure to keep it proportional) 8)You have to learn to edit the prt files. (Which I might say nobody has ever done) Also you have to create textures, gmax models, and anims. Also you have to have your own soundpack and all sprts of crazy stuff which I do not want to go into now.

ugh it'd take days and days to write a new civ guide... and since i've always been too lazy to actually make one, i couldn't get it right...

it's very possible. i'm just probably never going to do it...

we might vote on doing that as our next clan project though...
