oh man, don't remind me... There are actually people this stupid out there, a point in case being a member of staff where I work who discovered that immersion in water is quite harmfull to a laptop.

Quite fatal, in fact because it shorted out the PCB on the HDD. Naturally several months work wasen't backed up which meant we had to send the drive off to a recovery specialist to get a new PCB fitted to it so it could be used again. Its quite fortunate that the magnetic platters are air/water tight!

Not to mention another person who spilt about a liter of water over a electric socket, which thankfully tripped the RCD before they got a 415V shock... Actually, while I try not to think about it I could easily go on for weeks listing potentially fatal things that our staff try to do to themselves or their equipment!

Just wanted to add my thanks to this thread. As a noob to this forum it's nice to find a friendly bunch of guys to chat to. Although sometimes on filefront it feels like there are more moderators/super moderators/administrators/files staff than normal members, they do create a good relaxed atmosphere. After spending 3 years with another site I wont mention, I can honestly say I feel more welcome here than I ever did there;) Thanks Ash and the guys.:cya:

nah, on the network sites we are outnumbered slightly more than a thousand to one if I remember correctly. (I worked it out once...)

The staff are the most active people though, so there is a greater chance that you will see one of us on the site. There are only three of us here (Joelteon, SupaStarAsh and myself) but there are probably about three hundred staff all told on the other sixty odd network sites, but they don't have access to do anything on the other sites.

But yeah, I am glad to see you like the enviroment here. :D

There's also a third option - C, (to the A +B mentioned earlier.) Perhaps most of us are away working and don't read the forums all the time. I've only just read this now for instance - Or option D) :sheep: Anyhows - a big thank you to the moderators for all the good work they do! :)
