Before I started modding the build lists, I tried that one time. lol. I used the borg. I actually managed to win. Although my F4 key doesn't seem to work anymore since then. It was like playing the old 'Track and Field' game in the arcade. lol.
Nah, more like Robotron, the game that only someone smoking some serious ... stuff ... could ever understand...
...and the only game to feature a joystick for shooting "superhuman powers" in any direction...
That was hands down one of the hardest control interfaces to get used to. I was always running into those stupid friggin' blue guys.
Did anyone here have one of those commodore 64 computers? It was the only thing I ever played for a long time. The joystick had only one button though, which made some of the games difficult because I couldn't find which keys did what and most instruction manuals were in pieces.
Oh god yes! Oh well do I remember those bleak december days, when 7 hours of loading would end, to bring a warm glow of a computer moniter only to display "press to load" or something that extent and then start another 45 minutes of loading :P
Operative34997How 'bout the AI that refuses to overtake the freighter it's chasing. It remains outside of weapon's range, warps ahead 1 inch, fires two phasers and one torpedo, then warps ahead another inch and fires again.....
Aaaaahhhh! God! Please, NO! :fistpunch: That is in my opinion, the most ANNOYING thing about ST Armada 2. And a few other things, hey, I've posted 'em before, but I see no harm in posting them again... 1. Stupid Player AI (popular, this one) Why do something like 100 ships chase after a scout ship? It's faster than most of them, but why 100? Couldn't ONE with phasers just overtake it and shoot the :Censored: out of it as it goes past? 2. Spontaneous Decloaking (also popular, try it near a starbase) Sometimes this can be good i.e. when it doesn't happen to you. But when you send your ship on an intelligence mission, and you want that ship back alive, why does it manage to decloak for no reason near a starbase only to get the living hell shot out of them? 3. Spontaneous Mutiny (when you're not listened to) Ordering ships about, they usually just go 'meh' and go do what they were told. Why is it that ONE recalcitrant ship will manage to disobey your order to go blow up a Borg ship or somesuch? What are they, sympathisers? 4. Self-Destructive Spontaneous Mutiny (embarrasing on a LAN game) When you get bored and click Self-Destruct for something to do, then realise you needed that ship, and go cancel it, then for some odd reason it doesn't cancel, and your ship goes BOOM.... 5. Speed Under-use We give some ships warp so they can get to trading ports quicker... so why do they bloody dawdle at impulse?????? Honestly, only my construction ships know how to use warp..... 6. Just-On-The-Edge-Of-The-Special-Weapon-Effect Bits When, say, you use Temporal Stasis, and one ship just manages to be on the edge and somehow isn't affected - wouldn't it (a) get stuck or (b) get stuck, and rip itself to bits when it moves? 7. Tractor Beams at Warp They work on Iwo-Jima Class starships, but why doesn't it WORK on other starships? Honestly, you equip a normal starship with a tractor beam, you grab something, it works, then when you jump to warp, it toddles along with you, then you suddenly tractor your nacelles and drop out of warp while your quarry goes sailing past, spinning, at Warp 5?
I didn't make it!
thwe only solution i have come up with concerning lazy AI when attacking the enmie is getting them all in wall formation and sending them in. that way they are all equally close to the target
my beef is that the aI usually attacks the worthless stations first. "THE DAMN RESEARCH STATION ISNT WHATS BLOWING UP YOUR DAMN SHIPS MAN!!!"
The cake is a lie. There is no cake.

Funny, I don't feel as if the enemy bother me much...I build an armada to wait for their attack, half an hour later, nothing happens so I send in my fleet and all I can see is a basic shipyard, a starbase, and 2 construction ships talking to each other while they get ponded upon. But thats not it...when you destroy these ships, the starbase replaces them and they do exactly the same!
Somethings not right with your AIPs. If set up properly, the AI will build forces like the devil himself and stop at nothing to try and wipe you out. Your AI might need some tweaking.
Here, try my Instant Action Klingon Rush Build List. They will beat the living HELL out of you with nothing but Qeh'Ral ships! Rename the .txt to .aip and put it in AI\AIPs\ folder. BACK UP YOUR DEFAULT first!
