Hi, I love the armada 1. I didnt like 2 at all but thats just me probably My problem is that, i used to play A1 loads on my XP machine. Since i had to format and reload due to a virus problem it has bafter about 1 min game play been bailing to the desktop. No warning messages or anything. No CPU screeching. Just bailing as if it is the best thing to go. I have screwed around with compatability and vidual themes...etc. The only thing i can think of is that it is i have installed SP2. Is there any unoffical patches or anything that can help me??? Or any advice Cheers Jeremy

Hi, I don't have an answer to your problem, but I just thought I'd say that I love Armada I also and don't really like much of what was done with Armada II. I have only recently (last few months) started using mods and stuff. Just wanted to say what's up because I don't see too many who talk about Armada I anymore or share information on new crap for it, new ships, mods et cetera. Thought we might be able to correspond a bit. If not, no worries. Later.

Just browsing around and saw your post. Uhh try to uninstall sp2 and see if that is the problem at all. if not than reinstall it. You can get support for your problem at Ativision support oh and sta 2 is better just get the appropriate mods. from this site. Im workin on the basics for a mod that makes each race be like its own game and being induvidual. More complex gameplay. Basicly star trek armada 3. Have to make up a storyline etc.

I had a similar problem with birth of the federation, my soultion was to install a virtual drive and use windows 98 on a virtual drive,

the only other thing i can suggest is make sure everything is turned off including the internet connection try that?

Star Trek Armada (the sold out/XPLOSIV version), i cant get Tech sup cos im running it on winxp, i cant for the life of me figure out wat is wrong, the game loads as normal, but wen i try 2 play it i get heavly stuttered gameplay and incorrectly played sound/movie files/ cut sceans(ingame cutseans just freeze with the opening graphics)(to the point where i cant actually play the game), wat i dont get is this game also worked on win ME with roughly the same hardware, the only thing that has changed is my sound card 24bit SoundBlaster, its really annoying cos ive tried everything ... compatability wizzards u name it even patching graphics, sound, OS, can nyone help me on this?

Sounds more like a driver issue to me. Try disabling your sound card under device manager and see if the helps. Armada will load without it and it might help you pin point the problem.

Check SB's web site for documentation to completely remove the drivers (clean install) and try reinstalling the drivers. It might work. Also, try this first: In XP go to: START - Control Panel - Sounds, Speech and Audio Drivers Then at the bottom with the speaker image click Advanced

Then go to the Troubleshoot Tab

Then disable the Acceleration

Then load Star Trek Armada and it see if it corrects the problem.
