I didn't make it!
i have a prob with armada one crashing after a few hours sometime right when the game starts any one know why or how to fix this i have a 2.80 ghz dual core processor win xp a geforce 5500 fx 256 mb memory and i have 3gb ram with 20 gb of hd space allocated to my ram so technacally im running 23 gb ram and i have a 500 gb hd
I think I heard that any PC with over 2Gb of ram causes issues with running A1 and even A2 for that matter. Not sure if this is true or not as while I run a Phemon 2 3.0ghz Quad Core I run only 2Gb of ram because of that simple reason.

Can we get confirmation on this? It'll be a huge problem in the very near future for our community. Anyone else can confirm or deny this?
Try to run just 1 race at a time to see if all the races do it or if just one
Is this crashing on a stock install or a modded game? Also, if you haven't already done so, you might check the contents of the logfile.txt as it might give a clue as to what's causing the crash. It is in the C:\Program Files\Activision\Star Trek - Armada\Logs folder I run A2 with Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E6750 @ 2.66 GHz with 3.5 GB of RAM and have had no problems. CAn't get A1 to run but it is becuase of the GF 8800 graphics card

Yes it would be good to get a confirmation due to as I said it is only a rumour I read here once a few years back.
I have 4 gbs of memory! And it still works (A2)
I'm right at 2gigs of ram so I'm no help on this issue.
Don't most 64bit processors run over 2gigs of ram...as I've heard alot of complaints of Armada (1,2) problems using this processor?
64-bit operating systems (notably Windows Vista) are another issue I'd like to further explore. The farther ahead we get in terms of the technology available to the average computer, the closer we come to the point where running A2 will cause an unresolvable conflict. What worries me is that we'll reach the point where we can no longer run stock A2 without making some serious modifications. At that point we either convince Activision to release the source code and a development kit so we CAN run the game in the near future and beyond.
Well I can run A2 with a Phemon 2 Quad Core at 3.0 ghz and 2GB's of ram with no issues. I haven't tried A1 yet as it's packed away i a box somewhere.

Have you tired A1?

I know 32bit Vista can run it, my Fiancée has that on her laptop. She has 64bit vista on her desktop but I can't remember if she's ever run it on that.
