To decode SODs... Or rather "open" and "edit" them, they use "3D Studio Max".

3DS Max is (arguably) the most powerfull 3D editing program, used for Star Wars, and The Matrix. It unfortunately costs money. This Same program is used for texturing.

I'm not sure if Milkshape 3D has a SOD exporter yet. Or if there is one, how well it converts textures. It is shareware, which means it costs a little, usually through a donation request.

NB: You can't decode/import .sod files in 3DS Max, only encode/export them.

I think there is a .sod exporter for MilkShape too, but i don't use it, so not sure.

Thats right...

Well, 3DS Max is the program to make SODs. To edit one, Storm 3D was what I used for Armada I. The Armada II version, isn't that good though. I forgot what the altenative was.

I also don't remeber what to use to import SOD into a 3DSMax format.

I don't play, or mod for Armada II anymore. Didn't make too many mods, and never released any, when I did.

Heres the list:

- Lithium UVMapper: If you can find this program then you'll be able to import all Armada 1 based models and a great deal of Armada 2 models. Program is free to use.

- Ultimate Unwrap 3d: UU3d can import all but a handful of SOD based models using the available plugin (has been found to cause problems for some users with versions later than v2.04). Program won't save files without being registered. Cost is around £30. Available from www.unwrap3d.com

Hope that helps.
