StarfleetCommand3;4468253Hum......... This is a weird thread. Locked?
Whatever for? Don't be silly.
As to the Yesteryears engine, I wish Majestic and Syf luck working that out, and I hope it'll go something of the way of Babylon 5: I've Seen Her or Battlestar Galactica: Beyond the Red Line. Regardless of what engine it uses, a fan-made mod or a fan-made game is wonderful so long as it's of the highest quality.
Transmission;4468321The Freespace Engine, and the OGRE Engine (if based for Freespace and Bridge Commander) wouldn't be suitable for an RTS game. The Engine that is being done over at MSFC is. :)
OGRE is already used for at least half a dozen RTS's that I can think of, and the engine and its source are available now under the LGPL. I'd call that suitable? :)
I did not know that Freyr :p I should then say that it appears as though Majestic & Syf are the only ones who currently wish to make an Armada based project into a game, on a better engine. Most of us (myself included) wouldn't know where to start. Hence Zero Hour sticking to the A2 engine.

And there I think you're correct. They're the only ones going from the A2 engine to what would be a fundamentally improved version of that engine, rather than simply abandoning Armada-style functionality altogether in favour of a fundamentally non-Armada engine.
