Well let's just say that the bomb could do the same stuff the Pathogen did to the Collective. Although this bomb is much more advanced since it can also destroy the entire Borg Transwarp network. Trust me guys everything's possible in Sci-Fi. For a Armada III mod I will need a whole team of people to help me out and I need programs to make one but for one thing I know nothin about making Armada mods at all. can someone teach me?

DARK_HUNTER335Well let's just say that the bomb could do the same stuff the Pathogen did to the Collective. Although this bomb is much more advanced since it can also destroy the entire Borg Transwarp network.

:uhm:

1. That Pathogen was release by fleets in the future. So Starfleet systematically eliminated the Borg entirely.

Then it was brought back, and only affected a single outpost. Albiet, and very critical one.

2. I am not sure I would want to destroy the Transwarp network. It is a significant resource. Imagine the exploration potential of having an entire Transwarp network at Starfleets disposal. Warp Speed would be an afterthought, and both the Delta Quadrant, and the Gamma Quandrant would be easily accessible. I think Gene Roddenberry wouldn't have wanted it. The guy new something about stories.

He created Andromeda. Notice how similiar the Transwarp Conduits, and Slipstream are? How about Niechians race, and Klingons? Perhaps Gene had considered setting Andromeda in the 30th Century. The Federation has collapsed, after spanning the entire Federation. The only real way to travel, is to use the Borg Transwarp Conduits. Which have been added to, by the Federation. After all those years, the conduits have begun to degrade, so it takes real skill to go through them.

See where the story could have gone? Andromeda was almost the next Star Trek.

See why destroying the Transwarp conduits could be a bad thing? Remember, there are issues with Warp Drives, and the fabric of Space Time.

Actually if you read up about the ships you will find that the warp drives on new fed ships are actually space-time friendly. I suppose the transwarp conduits would be useful only, how could the federation get them they are on the other side of the galaxy and they are the borg look how much troble they had with one cube (though the cubes in voyager are smaller and weaker) they wouldn't have a chance against a fleet of them.

Actually, what if the Borg did survive. I mean, Janeway from the future may have chosen to go and get assimilated, but Janeway present didn't need to do that, what if the pathogen was never really used!!!

Well, I remember a voyager ep that featured subspace conduits. An entire network if I remember, those could be used, but transwarp tech could be reverse engineered and a new network built by feds. Anyway, long live slipstream drive! :bows:

JarenThe Borg can never again be used, as the only surviving Borgs are those made independent during Unimatrix Zero. All other Borg were destroyed by Janeway's virus thingy!

I know this may seem ages after the original post but what you seem to forget is that just before the borg queen dies in "endgame" she states that the borg have assimliated the pathogen (Janeway's virus thingy), so the borg did survive, if not drastically damaged by it. There is more proof of this survival. AFTER the borg queen is destroyed Voyager is still chased by a borg sphere through the transwarp network, this sphere prooves that the bord were not totally destroyed.
