Greetings all. In light of our upcoming first anniversary, Star Fleet R&D wants to give back to the community. After much thought, we have come up with a great idea to give back to you all for all the support over this year, and to promote our new Forum as well. If this goes well, hopefully this will be the first of many to come.
Have you ever wanted to design a ship, or have you designed it, but don't have the modeling skills to make her in 3D? Or have you ever tried and gave up? Maybe our modders didn't want to build her?
Well my friends, you're in luck!

Good luck
After some talks, we have decided to drop the (- Only people who have never modeled before are invited to submit their ship concept (if you can/have model/ed this contest is not for you - you can build your own) rule. We are now opining it to everyone. It was also purposed that we lift the medical requirement, but we will still keep it as to keep the playing field level. There are so few Med ship, and every body loves to make combat, and soon we will have a contest for one, but test out and learn new skills making a Med ship.
We accept and 2d format you want to use. If you want to hand draw, or use a paint program. Good luck to all and see links above.
I'm confused... it seems your forum (and competition) deals mainly with Legacy/BC stuff - in fact I don't see reference to A2/A1 anywhere, unless I'm missing something obvious.
My guess is its just models alone
Well your right, there is nothing there for Armada yet! I'm a BC modder and so is my team. And i use Legacy allot so i invited Legacy modders over as well. But the first ST game i ever played was ST A2 so it will always have a sweet spot with me. I don't know anything about Armada modeling but i'v had many people want to port my work over, witch i always say yes, But i think its for there personal use. I posted here to generate interest in my new forum. I'm NOT trying to be a competition to this or any forum, simply a companion. The point is to get active modders from all the game under one roof to keep the modding community alive, pass along ideas, and to promote porting to all ST games.
As for the design contest, its open for everyone who signs up. Simply design a ship, and if it wins, you'll see her fly i game. Lots of people have great ship ideas, but cant model, so i made this contest to help people see there ideas come to life.
I mean no disrespect to the Armada community, i jest want to try stimulating more growth in all modding.
Righto, no harm meant. Was just trying to understand the motivation :)
I didn't make it!
Anything that encouarges ST moding and community crosspolenation is a good thing in my book
