WARNING: VENTING ALERT So I've been working on this mod of mine off and on for a few years. And had some issues the last week where my cd-rom on my shared computer went down. So I took the time to do some modifications and ODF mods I had cooking in the back of my head for a bit while I waited to get a new DVD-rom to replace my defunct cd player. I backed up my changes into a folder on my desktop so I could find them in a hurry if I need to. My friend came over with the DVD-Rom drive to install it for me and to get some movies while he could be connected to my high-speed internet. I left with my fiancee to pick up dinner and let him work, upon returning I find he has deleted my backup folder's contents because he needed somewhere to put his downloaded movies... I chastised him about deleting my files especially when all he had to do was make a new folder... but didn't think much of it since I figured my changes were fine. Yet just a few minutes ago I tried to fire up my game for an enjoyable round of slaughter the Feds... and I get "Out of Memory, increase swap file size" *pulls my hair out of my skull* Someone kill me! For the love of god why did he have to dlete my files? Hopefully none of you actually took the time to read this, I just needed to vent, and mourn my mod.
Sucks. Set phasers to "stay the frak away from my files".
"I grieve with Thee." Is there any possibility you gave copies of these to someone else somewhere?
...I vote for set your phaser to kill and go hunt him down..:p.....

Recycle bin?
That's why I don't let anyone to my pewrsonal computer :) By the way I also store my modded files on a DVD-RW.

Don't worry your files went to Sto'vo'kor, now send him to Grea'thor! Honestly though you might have a chance with recovery tools. Just google it and see what you come up with. It really sucks loosing data, I lost 3 months of work on my FYP last year because my laptop was stolen and my portable HDD was connected to it. Luckily I had a backup of my coding from 3 months previously but I had to do alot of crunching to recover the lost ground. I hope you sort out something
Well I have everything up to about 4 months ago, because there's 7 of us who play my mod, Collision Course III (yes it's up to incarnation 3). But I made ALOT of changes in that time. I've been tinkering with this particular game since 2003. It just sucks. I just think I'm gonna take like a week off from A2 to do some Battlefront II or something cathartic where I can slaughter endlessly to avenge my mod... Thank you all very much for the support!
