(not using 'rave' in the sense implied by 'rants and raves' of course)

Hey kids,

So last night, modding away, and one of my favourite battle tracks came on my computer ("Spitfire" by Prodigy) and I started wondering what everyone ELSE listens to during glorious war.

So I started this thread. Throw 'em down. We've all evolved well past the tinny 'soundtrack' of Armada II.

When your adversaries are falling back before your onslaught.... When your mighty warships are charging down the throat of an enemy stronghold.... When you find yourself compelled to make a real-time decision in the height of battle that could mean the difference between your brazen triumph and your utter desolation....

....what are you most likely to be listening to?

The Kid wants to know.

I actually open Itunes and have it on shuffle. I could be listening to Rage Against The Machine as my cargo ships move into position by a trading staion, or relaxing to Newton Faulkner as my fleets move in to surgically remove an enemy presence... Come to think of it, I often just stick Star Wars on (*GASP*) - The OST scores sound awesome in just about any RTS!

When your adversaries are falling back before your onslaught....

-Anything by Deep Purple, Pantera, or Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds. "Thunderchild" or "The Coming of the Martians" works pretty good here. The Alan Parsons Project "I, Robot" also has some kick butt tunage which works very well.

When your mighty warships are charging down the throat of an enemy stronghold....

-The Ride of the Valkyries by Wagner. There is something else? Oh, wait. "Rock of Ages" by Def Leopard.

When you find yourself compelled to make a real-time decision in the height of battle that could mean the difference between your brazen triumph and your utter desolation....

- Anything by the Moody Blues.

...scares the hell out of the spoonheads.

Sometimes I listen to iTunes on shuffle, usually though I'm either not paying attention or listening to ships explode.

I for one listen to "Prelude to War" from the BSG soundtrack. The beat really makes me beat the crap of all enemies on the map. I recommend that you listen to it.
