Source: http://armedassault.eu Credits: Espectro, snuffles New Info: -We will NOT have thermal sights, the game DOES use HDR lightning, so it can be moddable. -Weapons can be configured with different configs, for example silencers -You will still be able to use custom faces in both SP and MP -Ironsights are 3D -TrackIR will function for soldiers on ground, but it will also be implemented for crew members in vehicles. -Inventory size is incriesed and it is made easier to use it while in combat -Ingame voice communication is implemented in Armed Assault like in OFP, but will also work using sockets (not directplay only - red) -Flight model is greatly improved, and BI is calling it "semi-realistic" - so you can easily spot a "newbie" among more experienced pilots. -The sound engine has been redone. Soundwaves can get blocked by obstacles, such as hills etc. Sound speed is still modelled of course. -Wound textures and the injury system is still the same as OFP(so far). -Island size is above 400 km2 - Terrain will vary on different parts of the island. -ArmA is based upon the same engine as VBS2 -We will probably see a new ArmA trailer later on. -You will be able to 'chop' down a tree -Artillery will be available - Paul doesn't know how, but he sure knows it's there :) -You can have thousands of soldiers in a mission on the same time -Some buildings will be dynamically destructable Trailer: ftp://www.ofpr.info/ofpd/videos/GC2006_ArmA_trailer.zip For more info, and updates, visit http://ofp.gamepark.cz/index.php?newlang=eng There are a few interviews available. Looks good so far

Looking forward to the artillery and customizable weapons. :p The more I read about this game, however, the more I hope I can run it...

Looks great, i cant wait for it to be out and it sounds like just in time for the holidays. Also is there any word on a demo, and did u actually says 1000 of soldiers can be online playing 1 mission at a time on the same map, how is that possible?

I interpreted that number as single player only. After all these years I would have hoped they could make a much better/tweaked engine. Of course it probably helps to have a high end system, not something like my 1.2 ghz antique. :p

They put a Sopwith camel in a patch for ofp, don't know why, to show off scripting skills maybe?
