Ok as has been said the smartgun burns through ammo like crazy and the damage is minimal at best. You practically have to unload the gun to kill a pred with it. That said im a marine always. I hate preds because they cloak and can hide in the high places and just snipe everyone, you want it to be balanced take away the smart gun and the cloak. Being a pred is noobish to me because of the cloak and the plasma cannon. All you have to do is cloak and stand very still and just wait for a marine to come by and slash them with the claws or sit up high and snipe them for hours without any of them finding you unless there is another alien in the map. Im fine with the lack of the smart gun i never use it anyway its virtually a useless gun for me. If i have to face more than one opponent i run out of ammo too fast and end up dead long before a clip from the pulse rifle would run out on me. And also if you want to take away auto aim weapons you might want to take away the plasma cannon altogether. But yes you are right about the noobs using the smart gun they think if they dont have to aim then they can kick butt and that just isnt true. My friend Gir always plays an alien and he loves the smart gun wielding noobs cause they always provide him with plenty of kills. I also dont mind them either for two reasons, 1. They provide a better target for aliens and 2. If its a free for all i can take them out fairly easily as well my pulse rifle will kill you before your smartgun kills me.

Also the pulse rifle WAS a powerful gun in the movie if you recall it would shred the aliens which is why its so powerful but you have to know how to aim so very few noobs use that gun. As far as im concerned you could take away all the other weapons because all i need is a pulse rifle to kick an aliens butt. When it comes to preds the cloak is a pretty unfair advantage but thats the way a pred works and it was in the movie. I think AVP2 had a great balance in abilities and that is why it wasnt more popular. The main problem being is people tried to play aliens like they were marines instead of remembering how the movies were, the aliens are sneaky and smart and they come at you from behind they dont come "Rambo'ing" up on a marine or any other human with a weapon which ive seen SO many people playing aliens do.

avp2 is awesomee game. Those weapins need to be kept, because they're typical to aliens,.. but maybe the smartgun dont need to track but thety have more damage wuthout that tracking.

Well i as a long time vet of the whole AVP games (played both since their first demos and betas ingame name Tomar) would like that they also add in the new weapons from the movie AvP II as they really would be cool especially considering the new pred whip that tore an alien into multiple small pieces ;). Another thing would obviously be the new sub predator which is namely the cleaner which would have the ability to have to Plasma caster (double the fun double the gun hehe :D ;) ) and of course the ability to make out of his Plasma casters the Plasma rifle which always needs to power up before each shot but therefore can litteraly tear through multiple aliens with a single shot and if charged up at the maximum it could destroy an entire building ;).

Another thing would obviously be that the aliens should have the possibility to impale a marine or human in general in order to instantly kill it and have the chance to headbite it after it draws the victim up close but this impaling should only be possible if the human has already been severly wounded (much like the tear ability the aliens have in AvP 2 just with the differnce that the impaling tail attack would only come up at severly wounded humans) . I mean imagine in the cryengine 2 that you walk as a pack of marines with some friends over coop in a multiplayer server through a dark complex with tight and very dark hallways and suddenly someone is attacked and afterwards you see that the attacked on is impaled and drawn upwards to the ceiling where all of the sudden your flash lights go up and see within the dark directly above your teams heads a group of aliens stalking you and suddenly headbiting and ripping one of your mates apart and then the action begins ... man this would rock like no tomorrow!!! ! ! !

Another thing should obviously be that the humans should maybe have the chance of using some kind of vehicles or fixed turrets that are littered in the map (something like in BF). But maybe no real tanks or an APC as these things would make the game more of a mass multi species battle and actually AvP always was a shooter that tells the story from certain battle-hardened humans battling, few stalking and well armoured and armed preds and take on hordes of smart and deadly aliens.

Therefore AvP is more of a FPS then a mass vehicle abusing FPS like BF.

Just my 2 cents.
