In my laziness, I never took the time to copy my cd key. When I lost the paper with my cd key, I went to AVP2 and to UPDATE CDKEY hoping it would show my cd key (so I could write it down). It didn't show any cd key and was blank for me to fill it in. Unfortunetly, I escaped from the cdkey thing and tried to play when I couldn't! It had saved it as no cd key. Am I royally screwed or could I call Sierra and maybe they could ask for a unique registration number on the discs and could give me the same cd key?

Note: Any mention of warez (or any other illegal things), and this thread is trashed.

Yes it is.

Best thing to do would be buy a new game. You can try getting ahold of Sierra, but in the end you will probably end up paying for a new CD key. (never throw out the CD key paper dude..)

Because it just is. The one 'dude' could be letting the other 'dude' play the full game without paying for it.

If you've already entered your CD key, you can find it in the registry. Do a search for WON in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Unfortunately, it appears to be in hexidecimal format, so you have to convert that into ASCII to figure out what your key is (I think). Be forwarned, tinkering with your registry can seriously screw up your computer. Proceed with upmost caution. BTW, the key is on the jewell case, so if you still have that, you should have the key still. It's on the front cover slip.
