Hi, I'm having some problems launching Star Trek Armada II after installation. When I try to launch it, I get two pop-ups. The first reads "Error Starting Program. The D3D8.DLL file is linked to missing export DDRAW.DLL:Unlock CB." The second reads "C:\Program Files\Activision\Star Trek Armada II\Armada2.exe A device attached to the system is not functioning." I've tried rebooting the computer and reinstall the game, but I continue to have the problem. If someone can help me out, I would greatly appreciate it.

looks like some kind of directx error. could you please go to Start - Run type dxdiag click OK, then, on the bottom of the program, click Save All Information... save the file and attach it to the forum please

Reinstalling DirectX, or better yet, getting DirectX 9.0b can't hurt.

The problem is probably due to differing versions of the two dlls in question....d3d8.dll and ddraw.dll Find both dlls (they should be in the windows\system directory) and right click on each file and goto /properties/version tab for each. If the version numbers are not the same..there's your problem. Get the latest Directx version from microsoft (redistribution version recommended) and install - that should solve.
