Hello all, This is my first real question about Armada 2 modding.

I (not to brag ) think I know a lot about the ODF files to make new ships, stations, whatever. The problem I am having is with all the others needed to make a something. Sprites, SOD, AIPs, whatever, and not to mention those annoying TGA files. To be honest, I have no idea about how to program hardpoints and make to TGA (TAGA I call them)) files. So, can anyone help me?

Thanks, Sushek

the store... you can't dl it legally. you can order a demo, but the full program costs $3495 according to their website.

oh, and that price isn't a misprint!

Gmax and Milkshape are good modelling programs.

Gmax: -is free -but a bit difficult at first

Milkshape -Easy to use -has a 30 day limit. After that it'll cost $25 if you want to continue using it.

Personally i have Gmax. And i would recommend that to you as well. BTW, this is my first ship:

Thank you all for your help. BTW Captain Henk, nice ships. Still, Captain, where did you get Gmax? I am not very good at finding files (not everyone is good at everything... except the borg :assimilate: ) Once again, thanks.

Thanks again Captain Henk, but (I know I am a pain in the butt) but how do you upload the .sod files to make new ships? I have version 1.2 installed and when I attempt to load a .sod file I get this:

File Open Failed: C:\Program Files\Activision\Star Trek Armada II\SOD\Filename.sod

Anyone have any hints? Should I rename the .sod files to filename.gmax? Any tips that would help would be great....

That IS still a problem. I dont think Gmax can import .SOD files. Maybe they need to be converted by some-one who has 3D max. (from .SOD to a format that can be imported into Gmax)
