(A shadowy figure appears...) Greetings mortal... I see that you require some knowledge.... It will cost you your soul...? (The hood tilts slightly.) Ok. (You shake hands, and a cold chill touches your bones...) (The hooded figure steps forward so that the edge of his hood is touching your face and words start to form in your mind...) Ok. Firstly, the only way to make a map for AVP2 is using the AVP2tools. If you have primal hunt installed on your computer, you will have a folder in its directory called 'tools' (ie. C:\Program Files\Fox\Aliens vs. Predator - Primal Hunt\Tools) which will contain the setup files, otherwise you will have to find somewhere to download them using google or such-like. Once you have downloaded/located them... install them. lol.

After that you need to go to the 'tools' folder in your standard AVP2 directory (ie. C:\Program Files\Fox\Aliens vs. Predator\Tools) and run "unrez.bat" which will extract all the models from your AVP2.rez files into a folder that the editor to use. Then from the same directory run "Editor.exe". Once running, you will need to open the project AVP2.dep (ie. C:\Program Files\Fox\Aliens vs. Predator\AVP2\AVP2.dep). It's a good basis to work off, otherwise you have to import and setup heaps of crap.

Next. You need to find the options and specify your standard AVP2 folder as the working directory (ie. C:\Program Files\Fox\Aliens vs. Predator), otherwise nothing works. (I don't know why the hell they didn't just do alot of this crap in the standard tools install. lol)

You are now ready to start making a level. (Or editing an existing one.) phew.. lol (See next post for details.)

Crap... I typed up this huge post (Took me bloody half an hour) and it got screwed. I tried to make one with a url, but my flamin account is "Limited" lol

Anyhow the best that I can do now is tell you to go to planetavp (commercial) and go to the mod section. Either that or pop up google and search with "AVP2"+"Map"+"rez"+"tutorial" or some other string similar to that.

Sorry I couldn't do any better mate. Good luck with it. ;)

Thanks for the site, now i know what the problem is. Here's the question&answer I found helpful: Q:When I start the DEdit tools that came with the AvsP2 Toolkit and try to open avp2.dep, I get an error message saying "Cannot find class module Object.dll". How can I fix this? ..... A: The tools should have put the avp2.dep and the object.lto together in the same folder, which should have been your Aliens vs. Predator2\Avp2 folder by default. Did you move your avp2.dep? They must be in the same folder (project directory) to get all your object (resources) in the game. So I searched for object.lto(because avp2.dep was in the right folder) and it didn't exist!!! I'm going to re-install and see if that works
