Hello, I am currently working on my first model, a shuriken model. I am aware that Raptor Red alreaddy released such a mod but I am interested in putting my model into 1st person view as well (and if I can say for myself, mine is modeled more acurately to the movie shuriken). My problem (appart from having to figure out everything as I go along) is that I cannot import the skeleton of the hands from pDisk_pv.abc, I have managed to get the mesh using a program called milkshape 3D to Import it, and then Export it as a file type that 3DS Max can work with (MilkShape can get the bone structure but cannot export it for some reason). It would save a lot of time if someone could help me get the bones into Max.
Thank you, Ross
P.S. I have attached 2 renders of my model thus far and comments would be great. (Be gentle tho, this is my very first model created where I wasn't following a step by step guide, and i've only done 1 of those, and first ever attempt at uv mapping)
Just to let people know, I have found two ways to do it, first is to use milkshape 3d to import the .abc format, then export as a half life 2 smd file and choose sequence (only exports bones but when you use the other option and try to import it into max it causes (my copy at least) to crash) and then import the smd file into 3DS Max by use of a plugin which can be found at www.maxplugins.de (thanks to Raptor Red for telling me this way), a better way is to import into milkshape, save as milkshapes native file (.ms3d) and then use TransPoly or NuGraf + Poly-for-max (sort of a plugin thing) and that will import it into max perfectly, but sadly, i cannot find a download for a crack or full version of Poly-for-Max and the demo version deletes half of it and im damn sure not paying £495 for a bloody import program. I hate that company, they made a decent import/export program, then added in only a semi decent modeling program along with the worst interface i've seen yet just so they could charge so much. BTW, if anyone finds a crack or anything then let me know (don't tell me on here, might get filefront into bother, so pm or e-mail me).
