I am still trying to get my AVP to run multiplayer and it is giveing me the blues. I have tryied all the new mods and updates and either the game would freeze up when I tried to find a server with the game or it keeps saying there is a problem with my internet connection when I use game spy. For some reason the game is not understanding I have cable internet and there is no connection problem I would love any and all help from any one.

Vista, huh? Ok, try this:

  • right click on .exe file and choose Properties
  • go to Compatibility tab
  • enable Compatibility mode and set it for Windows XP (Service Pack 2) or Windows 98 / Windows Me (try both)
  • disable Desktop Composition
  • enable running with Administrative priviledge level
  • click OK and try running the game (run in directly from the .exe file, not any pop-up launcher)

Okay there is no problem with playing the game single player it is the multi player that is killing me, I have tried everything the mod files that I have down loaded for the server patch wont install on vista but they install just fine on XP, I have even tried to copy my files that are working on XP to this games files to overwrite them and thinking it would work but again it did not work, Vista is driveing me out of my mind

You spoke of making a clan in AVP2? I will help you if we can start a clan together. Add my msn or my xfire (Xavina@hotmail.co.uk) or ssxtrinityssx (xfire). I'll see what I can do to help you as I have played AVP2 since the day it was released in 2001.

Make sure you install the patch as an administrator. Head over at Untitled Document for more details and advice, if you keep having problems with it.
