I got bored one day and i looked at the fine print on the JC of Bf1942 and it says that "AN INTERNET CONNECTION IS REQUIRD FOR THIS FEATURE online features of Battlefield 1942 tm will be available through September 30, 2004 after witch EA may retire the features" umm dose that mean that EA is going to stop supporting online play in BF1942? its got me kinda confused......
ive heard that before but i dont know if its true. if it is, fh might move to the bfV engine :)
man i hope they dont cut off bf1942 cuse i dont plan on buying BF:V they shoulda made that a bf1942 EXP. Pack
No it means, they have reserved the right to discontinue support for this game after that date.
So basically, if they decide to do that, theyre saying dont moan at us =p
I think that they tech support for registered owners. They may also mean that patch development will end on that date, these type of patchs are usually classified as 'GOLD" edition or 'FINAL'. If you use 'GAMESPY' or the server browser that is built into the MP options you will see that there is about 3000 different servers all running BF 1942 and mod varients. So dont worry about it! The only way that BF MP gameing would cease were if individuals stopped playing it ( supply/demand ).
they may stop making the game I dunno bout patches though
Hmm, well, by then I'll probably be playing HL2, or another game. BF is still great though. :)

don't forget about BF2 ;) I am not hearing good points about HL2's MP engine so far.
BF1942 servers will be around for a long time. I am going to put up (rent) a small server myself just for dogfighting
